CAREERS/ROLES WORTH KNOWING
GLOBAL ROLE FINDERJOB MARKET ANALYSIS

NINETY OF THIS WEEK'S 162 SENIOR ROLES

HAVE BEEN OPEN
A FORTNIGHT
OR MORE.

Monday 20 October 2026, read from 95 public job boards

Good Monday. Here is the senior media market as it stands this morning, and underneath it every role we found, by region, with the link on each one. If you read nothing else, read this. More than half the open senior seats in this industry were already there last Monday and nobody has filled them. That is leverage, and it belongs to you rather than to the company advertising.

If You Read Nothing Else

A role that will not close is a role where somebody has run out of easy answers

Ninety of this week's 162 senior roles have been open a fortnight or more. More than half the open senior seats in this industry were already there last Monday and nobody has filled them.

That is leverage, and it belongs to you rather than to the company advertising. A role that will not close is a role where somebody has run out of easy answers.

What This Means If You Are Looking

Find your corner

If you are in product or engineering

This is your week. 49 seats open, and 37 of them have been advertised a fortnight or more, which is 76 per cent of them. Nothing else in this market is that stuck. Those companies have been looking for a while and they have not found you yet, so go in asking for more than you were planning to ask for.

If you are commercial

There are 44 seats, almost as many, but only 20 of them are stuck. Commercial roles are closing faster than anything else, so the opposite advice applies. If one is right, move on it this week rather than next.

If you are in content and programming

It is thin and it is fast. 14 seats, and only 3 of them have been there since last Monday. They are going almost as soon as they appear, so set an alert and be first rather than best prepared.

If you are at a broadcaster or a studio

That is where the volume is right now, 58 seats and the biggest single block in the market. Paramount alone is carrying 28 and NBCUniversal 15.

If you are a vendor or media tech person

Be honest with yourself about where the doors are. 26 seats, and 13 of them are at Deltatre. Then Dolby with 3, NEP Group with 2, NPAW with 2, and one each at Bitmovin, EVS, Qvest, Arqiva, castLabs and 3 Screen Solutions. Twenty three vendor boards we opened this morning had nothing on them at all. This is a specialist market at the moment, not a platform one, so go narrow.

If you are in ad tech or measurement

It is quietly one of the healthiest parts of this industry. 23 seats, and five of the seven boards we read are hiring. Nielsen has 9, Samba TV 6, Comscore 4, iSpot 3.

If you are in the Gulf

We will be straight with you. We found two seats in the Middle East this morning, one at MBC Group and one at DAZN. We can only read a fraction of this market, so the real number is unknown rather than low, but either way, widen your search early rather than late.

The OTTRED Senior Hiring Index

47.6%

If you are new to this, the number is simpler than it looks. Every Monday we go at 95 public job boards across this industry and count how many are carrying at least one role at director level or above. This morning we got into 63 of them, and 30 had a senior seat open. 30 out of 63 is 47.6 per cent. That is the index.

It is the one number in here we would stake anything on, because it is a ratio rather than a count. The total number of roles moves around for reasons that have nothing to do with hiring. A ratio divides by what we actually read, so it cannot be flattered.

What it gives you is a base rate. Roughly half the media companies you could name have a leadership seat open at any given moment. If somebody has told you this market is dead, it is not. If somebody has told you it is booming, it is not that either. Across nine Mondays it has read 43.4, 60.0, 41.2, 48.6, 47.1, 48.6, 48.4, 48.3 and 47.6, and apart from one early week when we reached only 50 boards, it has sat between 47 and 49 since August.

What it ignores on purpose is size. A company with thirteen open seats counts the same as a company with one. So it tells you how widely this industry is hiring, not how deeply. Breadth is what matters when you are working out whether there is a door open somewhere. Depth is what the list at the bottom is for.

Still Looking

Senior seats on the board last Monday and still on it this morning

All of them have been open at least two weeks. We have no interest in making any company look like it is struggling, and the point is the opposite. A role that stays open is usually a role where somebody with the right background has real room to negotiate.

Six of the ten below are Deltatre, which is also the biggest single hirer in the market this week with 13 seats. Read that as scale, not strain.

90 of this week's 162 roles have been live for two weeks or more. Every one of them is also in the full list below, in its usual place.

Where This Started, And Where It Is Now

Nine Mondays on

The first one of these went out on 24 August. We read 76 boards that morning and found 80 senior roles, and the post was a shortlist, eight or ten of the best ones with a warm note on the top.

That lasted exactly one edition. The feedback came back fast and it was right. Nobody needed a tasteful selection made on their behalf. People wanted the whole market, mapped, with the link on every role, so they could decide for themselves what was worth their time. So we binned the shortlist and started publishing all of it, and we have published all of it every Monday since.

Nine Mondays on, we went at 95 boards this morning and got into 63. Every role carries its requisition number where the board gives us one, which is the only reason we can tell you a seat has been sitting there a fortnight. There is a weekend of reading behind a Monday post now, and an index with nine points on it that did not exist in August.

That is not a boast, it is the cost. This market is scattered across a hundred and twenty two companies and about eight different hiring systems, most of which were not built to be read by anyone who is not already applying.

What We Are Trying To Build

A complete and honest weekly record of the senior end of this industry

A job board shows you what has been advertised at you. This is meant to do something different. The whole market at once, in one place, grouped by region, with the base rate sitting next to it, so you can see where you actually stand rather than how any one vacancy happens to make you feel that week.

The part that gets better with age is the trend. Nine Mondays in and we can already tell you which parts of this industry are warming up and which have been flat since August. Give it a year and we will be able to tell you what a normal October looks like, and that is the thing worth knowing when you are weighing up whether to move now or sit tight.

The promise underneath it does not change. Every role we can stand behind, every week, with the link on it. Free, and complete, and as straight with you as we know how to be.

If You Want This Made Personal

This post is the market for everybody

Some people want the same thing written for one person, which is them. Here is what that looks like.

The Career Blueprint

It does something you cannot really do for yourself. We look back at everything your career has built and remodel you as the new product you have inevitably become, then work out the narrative around that product and who you should be taking it to. It starts with a conversation and becomes a bespoke document of around forty pages, written about you and nobody else, in three parts: who you are, where you belong, and how you go to market.

You get a narrated podcast of it, so you can listen to your own story on a drive. You get your personality profile in plain language. And you get the Blueprint Quest, which turns the ninety day plan into something you actually track rather than something that sits in a folder.

I have now written more than 250 of them. OTTRED members get 50 per cent off, and membership is free.

SEE THE CAREER BLUEPRINT

Blueprint Wingman

This is the one that belongs next to this report. A blueprint is a photograph of you on the day it is written, and the market moves every week. So for people who have had one, every fortnight you get a personal letter, written to you and nobody else. It tells you what has actually moved in the market for roles like yours, filtered through your own targets and your own green and red flags. It gives you one coaching note straight out of your own blueprint. It points you at the events worth being at. And it asks you one question, and your answer shapes the next letter, so it moves as you move.

While you are on the market, Wingman also gives you a confidential seat on the OTTRED Dream Team, our anonymised showcase of exceptional leaders that we put in front of the people doing the hiring. Your name never appears and your blueprint stays yours.

And if none of that is for you, that is completely fine. The list above is free and it stays free, and it will be here next Monday either way.

How We Do This, Briefly

Read from public job boards, this morning

We read public job boards. 95 of them this morning, 63 of which let us in. A role only appears above if we opened it today and it was live when we did. Anything we could only infer is not in the list.

Two things worth knowing if you are comparing this with last week. The broadcaster count nearly doubled, and most of that is Paramount and NBCUniversal, whose boards we are now reading end to end. Those seats have been building for a while, so read it as a clearer picture rather than a sudden hiring spree. And streaming is still the warmest door in the market, with eight of the nine streaming boards we read carrying a senior seat this morning.

A tip for applying. Forty six of the entries link to the company's board rather than the role itself, because those boards do not give each posting a fixed address, and three point to a listings site. For those, search the title on the company's own careers page and apply there.

One Thing To Be Clear About

None of these are ours.

Every role in this list was read off a public job board this morning. We publish them because they are useful to you, not because we have any interest in them. Apply directly to the company.

What we are trying to build as a firm is different, and we will say it plainly rather than dress it up. We want RedHolt to be the most distinguished headhunting firm in the world for senior media roles, on both sides of this industry, the consumer facing businesses and the vendors who supply them.

If you know of a senior role that belongs on this list, add it below. It is better when it comes from all of us.

From Chris and the whole OTTRED community.
